Go for it!!
John, Go for it. I purchased the 272 about 2 months ago. I love it. I is definitely not a racer, but sails well and moves much better than I had expected in light air. The boat is fun to sail and easy to single hand. It is extremely roomy for a 27 footer, due to the 9 foot beam and excellent interior layout. The cockpit is very roomy (I have a tiller). After examining a number of other boats in this size range, I have yet to see another one with as much room in the cockpit. It is great under sail or just having cocktails at the dock. I am very happy with this boat. O'Days are hard to beat!!!
