Really nice, my wife's favorite seat, too. My best to both of you and a pocket with a penny or two.

Congratulations! Both of you look like you will be enjoying days spent sailing and then stopping for breakfast/lunch/drinks/dinner whenever the opportunity presents itself.

Congratulations! That smile says it all. Between a sailboat and a classy lady, it will be a long time before you can't help grinning. Fair winds.

Yes, but I made a discovery

I gave up the corperate life in 2011 and made an amazing discovery:
I retired at 56 thinking it would provide more time for the things I wanted to do. So what did I learn?

Each day has 24 hours. 7 of them make a week.
While retired, I don't have one second more time than I had when I was working (Who knew?).

I don't get paid for working now.

My blood pressure is normal without medicine.

The hours I do have now are usually spent doing what I want to do.
It often includes free help to those who need it most (rewarding - absolutly.)

It did however take me some time to establish a new routine and I don't want to go back.

Way to go Frank. Nice boat, lovely crew, the jury's still out on the skipper, so when ya have some time, how about sending us more pictures???:naughty::neutral::dance::eek:

While I'm not "retired" (I'll take it if it comes in), I just returned from 3 days and two nights anchored out after a haulout in May, waxing the hull, and delays in getting my rebuilt dodger finished.

While I had all that time, I also had a list of things to do.

Conclusions? The MORE you use the boat, the MORE you get done. When the boat is somewhat "out of commission" turned out to be useless downtime. On Saturday, when I realized I would go sailing T-W-Th, I broke down and lub-ed a jib sheet winch and a whole bunch of other things.

Amazing what can get done when you "need" the boat! :D:D:D

Give a busy man a job...;););)

My friend once said: "The reason we use the boat so much is to figure out what to fix next!"

Thanks for your thoughts. I still coming off a really busy end of the year schedule of 16 hers / day IEP's and report writing. I still have to go back an clean out my office. There was a ton of paper work to retire including having to apply for Medicare etc. If all this wasn't enough my Dad passed away on June 3. As executor there is a ton of work to do even now. The difference is I can set the pace, sort of, I am married. Everyday she calls from work and wants to know what I have done, doing and going to do.
Enough of petting my dead cat. As the T-shirt says, "I'm retired and have all the time in the world to tell you about it."

All I can say is congrats and now I have one more person to live vicariously through. I'm 48 and have a long 8-10 years to go if I'm lucky. Again, enjoy!

You missed one Kermit. I figured you would ask Frank what type of a sail is a "retirement sail"? Chief
