Hi there, I recently purchased a 1988 Catalina 30 in Savannah GA. I need to get her to Bermuda. She passed her survey with all systems in good shape. I'm interested in whether or not any of you feel that boat is, as designed, stout enough to make the passage. Do you think there are any systems that should be strengthened? Chainplates perhaps? Barring a delivery can you give me options on having her shipped? My problem is the surveyor doesn't think that boat as designed is stout enough but most sailors I talk to think that as long as I pick a good time of year and wait for a weather window I should be fine.
