I am rebuilding a first 405 and I need to make new counter rails for the galley. Beneteau made a large laminated rail to surround the sinks and the engine cover. Mine, after 25 years of world travels is coming apart and delaminating.

The standard teak rail available for purchase is not tall enough. Under 2". The only one I have found over 2" is a rail called teak bunk rail, however I cannot locate any corners. I find them for sale in the U.K., New Zealand, and other countries. There is even a you tube video of a galley refit were the guy uses teak bunk rails and corners, but I still cannot locate any. Corresponded with all the major chadleries with no hope. Would appreciate if any beneteau owners have done this work before and dont mind sharing their experiences.
I have seen a cast metal corner that doubles as a handhold, used in many C&C, but cannot locate any of those either. if any one knows a supplier for those, I would be thankful.

The counter fiddle joinery on the Beneteaus and Jeanneaus are beautiful. They are fabricated in an industrial facility in France, cut, fit and finished before being shipped to the US. So you are unlikely to find anything off the shelf. I have fabricated similar pieces by epoxy laminating thin marine plywood onto a jig. Then you would need to shape and finish. It is tedious work. If I had your job I would be looking at some of the composite plastics (think Corian) taking the opportunity to surface the counters with something more substantial (solid-body countertop) and then bending and joining fiddle of similar material. I believe this is what Hunter has been doing for a while. Not sure how the bend the stuff, but they do.
