I have had to replace my saildrive lower unit due to electrolysis. The boat is three years old. I have been turning all three selector switches to the off position when I leave the boat which I now understand turns the ground off. There is nothing in the owner's amnual which warns of this problem. The boat is moored in a river away from any major marinas. Has anyone else encountered a similar situation ?

Never turn off all three switches. Always leave one battery on. Our 321 beneteau is our first one, and I agree the owners manual could be much more explicit. I had to ask many questions to friends and the dealer. Another reason for leaving the battery on is to make sure the bilge works when you are gone. THe charger will charge both batteries fine (unless like me, I had to replace the cheap charger which came with mine after about 2 years).
