Dear Beneteau owners, I participate in the local regattas with my First 40.7 and have noticed , that in comparasement to some of my competitors , my angle to wind is not as good as it should be . Any ideas what should I look at. Mast has been trimed by an expert and sails are also kevlar racing sails made by expert at Victory Sailmakers. Any sugestions are most wellcomed. Regards Viktor

Invite the sailmaker on board

Assuming you've got a nice clean hull and do not have a shoal draft keel (meaning everything else with the fleet is equal) then the sailmaker might be able to help. Pay attention to how they trim for puffs and lulls and the position of the telltales upwind for differing types of conditions. If your skin is thick, try posting this question on Sailinganarchy.com. You'll get blasted by a few who just do that, but you'll probably get some pretty sage advice too. Good Luck.
