First 305 opinions

Have opportunity to buy a 1986 first305. This boat is a midwest boat,one owner,shedded in winter. Inside and out like new. Very dry boat. New this year is a Harkin roller furler 135; Has 4 other sails including a spinaker. New Harkin traveler and main blocks. This boat does not have pressurized H20 or hot water. Does have auto helm, instruments, tiller, no self tailing winches. comes with triple wheel galvinied trailer. Wanting 42,500. I currently own a 96 Hunter. Any suggestions. Thanks

GO FOR IT

We traded in a 97 Hunter water ballast 26 on a 91 First 310 and havent looked back yet. The Beneteau handles better in all kinds of weather and 25KTS are no problem for it with sails reefed. the price seems a bit steep for a boat that old as the 90-91 year boats are going for about that much. We sail on Lake Erie and the 31 handles the chop on the lake just fine. Nort Hustwayte SV "C'est la Vie!!"

Boat may be good although no self tailing will take a lot of getting used to. But price seems way high. Suggest you ck yachtworld site for price comparisons. i bought a 92 310r this April for $43k
