Finished woodwork in the V birth...

ok i have finished the battens in the v birth ..i used andaroba material makeing all the battens 1 7/16 of an inch wide x 5/16" thick and rounding over the edges fasten it in with #4 X3/4" ss oval head screws these are fasten to sub stringers or ribs whitch ever you prefer to call them glassed in the sub stringers and insulated betwen the stringers with foil faced 3/4" styrafoam i still have to oil it as of yet but for the most part its done pics below are in progression of project.....hope you like......also added shelving in the upper part of the v birth with pinrails salvaged out of an old Irwin that was going to the land fill i saw sitting along the side of the road here at home...

Looks like a nice job. But, FYI, for your info, those "battens" are really called "ceilings". Berth is what you sleep in. Birth is what a doctor gives to a baby. OK, sorry.

Beautiful.... What material did you use for the shelves? From the pics it looks like laminate counter top turned on its end. Very nice job.

its 1/2" marine plywood glassed to the side with a 4" ribbon of cloth and west epoxy then coverd with some indoor/outdoor carpet via contact cement......
