I am trying to find a leak that shows up on the starboard side about 5 inches aft of the aft portlite. when it rains for some time I can get up to 1 to 2 quarts of water in the bins under the shelf. I ran some water on the deck and it leaked only two drops.Checked out port lite and it does not seem to be leaking.Po had caulked around main sail block on cabin roof. Recaulked hand rail. I am starting to look in the area of the sliding hatch. When I remove the cover that the slider slides under what am i about to find? Po had caulked around the seam between cover and the deck is this required? That caulk seam has failed and is falling apart. Has any one had this problem and found a solution? I am sailing a1982 h27.

Hosed where?

Gary, where did you run water with the hose? Your post said "on the deck". Water travels long distances in the cabin trunk coring. So you need to be specific in testing, just small areas at a time. Or you could try the old leaf blower trick. Cut a piece of plywood to replace the hatchboards. Make a tight fitting hole for the blower and pressurize the boat. Go around with a spray bottle of soap suds and see where the bubbles are.
