Was wondering if there is anyone out there that has an old seaboard 2H winch handle they would like to sell. If not any suggestions for other sites I might have luck with. recently took possesion of a 25ft Oday but the winch handle is missing. hoping that I dont have to invest in changing out the complete set up. Thanks, Deb

Deb,
Do you think that you'll need a winch handle? I have one in my cabin that I've only used a few times and it has been sitting in the shelf in back of the back rest for years gathering dust. I'm aware of the fact that the O'Day 25 is larger than my O'Day 222 but I think that you could probably get along without the handle. At least you'll never know unless you try sailing it without one.

If you feel that you really need one, try getting in contact with some consignment shops in the Rhode Island area.
There's the "Ship's Store" in Portsmouth RI which is located in Melville Boat Basin. Then there is "Newport Nautical Supply" which is located near the rotary not far from the Newport Bridge on-ramp. The guys who run these stores are really super people. They are very helpful and they treat their customers right. Good luck with your search.

I agree with Joe, I have an O'Day 22 and rarely use my winch handle. Even when sailing in 20kt breeze.

I use mine all the time. Sheets and halyards. Is a seaboard 2H winch handle different than other handles?

after I posted to this forum I found the winch handle I needed from Castaways Marine Consignment out of New York. Thank you for the list of other consignment shops in Rhode Island. Much closer in case I want to take a ride. I'm sure I'll be making good use of them. Have a great Holiday weekend. Deb

Ah that's beautiful! I'm glad you found one. I would tie a lanyard to the handle and attach it to your wrist when you use it. Those handles have a tendency of falling overboard. Davy Jones has a lot of winch handles in his locker.
You have a great holiday weekend too.
