Hi chaps,
has anybody filled the keel void on a Mk I Vega? (I understand later
models had a different arrangement). From posts on this board it
would seem that on some boats the void was filled with foam, Vista
wasn't.
As a part of the repair I'll be doing (don't ask) I intend to fill
the void in such a way that the aft half of the keel is a solid as
the forward half. The best thing I can come up with is sand and
polyester? Any suggestions? Mix ratio?
I suppose I ought to work out the volume of the void and the weight
of the filling.
Before anybody says it, I don't give a damn about racing or resale -
Vista will stay with me till I swallow the anchour (or sink her, God
forbid)
Any views?
