holes and delams
for the delam, west systems has a small syringe that has a plastic tip, get one if you can because this is the proper tool for the job. use a plastic hammer or a small ballpeen to lightly "sound " around your delam marking the area with a pencil. this way you can locate the highest point. use a very small dill bit and put a hole at the highest point an holes at the lowest/farthest away . mix up a small amount of epoxy but remember that epoxy will " kick" faster when in volume as opposed to a thin layer so don't drag out the project , be fast, do all your prep first then go for it. when you start injecting be ready to put a small patch of maskingtape over the hole once the epoxy starts to weep out [ this is why you need very small hole at the lowest points] marine tex is good stuff but for filling voids it woud be a hassle as it is a paste which west or systems three is a liquid and will flow into the void displacing the air which makes up the void. .for the bolt hole mask off the topside and put a smoll path of fiberglass mat first then a small piece of cloth no greater than 8oz. as this is not a structural repair. both pieces do not have to be very big you are just trying to seal up the hole. when the resin has cured remove the tape and mix uop a small batch of straight gelcoat that matches the color of the nonskid.bolt holes are pretty small and recreating the nonskid pattern can be a slippery slope if youhave notdone it before. pour in the gelcoat using a toothpic to move it around the hole until it is slightly overfull as gelcoat will shrink a small amount as it cures. please be cautious and use gloves and common sense and these repairs will go smoothly
