I noticed that I have water intrusion coming from under the Edison Pedestal. See picture. Specifically it's under the port tube where the wiring to the instruments go. I'm certain the leak is not coming from the inside but from the outside of the tube. My question is how do I repair this? I have never done fiberglass work. Do I need to cut this out??? Just looking for a bit of guidance. Thanks.. Jon

Get rid of the silicone as a sealant. Use something that actually seals. I rather like butyl, the one that maine sail suggests.

Jon, are ya sure the water is not coming in through the big thru-bolt right next to the wire?
If it is not wobbly and ya stop the leak, ya don't need to cut it out.

Uncle... I didn't learn about Maine's Butyl until later... Now I have a couple of rolls and love it...

Claude... I think it's from the tube since It's moist there and I seen water drops come out of that hole.

Just to keep the record straight, no big deal and no harm intended, the make of the pedestals is Edson and not Edison. I understand the winter estates of Edison and Ford are nearby and facilitates the name recognition.

This weekend I'll fill it with the butyl tape and then reset the screws of the Edson correctly with the tape.
