Do you have any recommendations for a "how to" book that goes from the basics to some moderate boat repairs. I have limited experience with fiberglass repairs but need to re-core the transom on my SJ21. I assume this will require cutting off the outer skin of the transom and replacing it after the core has been replaced.

Why not WEST?

Have you looked at the fiberglass repair & maintenance manuals produced by WEST ? They're not expensive and are well illustrated, which is more than I can say for Don Casey's books. Sure, they're biased toward the use of the WEST System products, but applicable to any fiberglass repair work.
