Can anyone suggest the best products/methods to clean and polish the fiberglass hull and topsides? What product works best to clean/protect the plexiglass windows? I have a '94 Hunter 26. nking48813@yahoo.com

Check the archives

There are numerous posts in the archives regarding compounding, polishing and waxing of fiberglass. Meguire's makes a line of products for plexiglas and it's available at Boat/U.S., both on-line and at their stores...

Wax

This year I used Meguiar's on the hull and am very pleased. first put on a coat of #50 One step cleaner/polish and it came up nicely. For added protection I then put on a coat of #56 Pure Wax. Both went on and came off easily. Hull looks good. For general cleaning I like "Spray Away" by Mary Kate. I have a 20 year old quart of plastic polish made for taking scratches out of Plexiglass and other plastics. It takes a lot of elbow gease but keeps our hatches and portlights as well as our Ponitac covertible's back window looking good. The bad news: I have no idea where to get more. Maybe try an automotive convertible window cleaner.

Vertglas

Someone I talked to when purchasing boat used this product with he said "GREAT" success. Supposively easy to use. Well I have just finished ordering a kit through WestMarine. $64. I'll have a more detailed report later.
