late last summer I purchased an older C-22 and have been replacing the keel bolt and doing some wood refinishing. Now I want to start on the hull and the decks. The hull is in great shape and all I need to do is find the time to paint it. There is pretty extensive gel coat cracking on the cockpit sole and various parts of the deck. It will certainly sail as is but I have to do something about it I'll go insane! I have done a lot of new fiberglass on kayaks that I have built but not much with repairs. Does anyone out there have any product recommendations or good advice they can share? Thanks, I want"Crab toes" to look good for her maiden voyage. Vernon

expoxy putty

I have tried Marine-Tex putty on all the cracks of my 22. I smear it over the crack with a finger and it has worked very well. If you are a perfectionist, you can come back when it dries and sand it. The white putty blends in very well, is easy, cheap, and fast to apply. A kit goes for about $10-$15. So far my repairs have held up quite well.
