while i was cleaning and inspecting my 18.5 i noticed a HUGE crack (like 6" long and almost 1" wide) in the FG of the port storage nook. i'm rather alarmed because it appears to be have been made from something pushing up against the hull from below but i checked from the outside and found nothing. i've not had a chance to talk w/ the former owner as to whether there was damage that was repaired but i can't imagine how the damage could have been caused other than from the outside. my question is should i have this evalutated and repaired before launch or not worry about it since the hull seems sound? cheers. Me too...

I have the same problem. It appears to be a structural failure at the 1/2 bulkhead on the port side. The trailer bunk ends here and it appears the bulkhead cannot take the weight. The hull actually bows in at the end of the bunk when on the trailer. I am replacing the 2x4 bunks with 2x6s and extending them about 18" to the rear, as well as 6" to the front. Does anyone know if this is a common problem, and if this is an acceptable solution. Crazy Dave, please help! The boat sails well despite the horrible-looking crack. I am not sure how I will repair it, but some boating friends of mine are.
