Dave

I'm working on filling up my iPod, and have lots of varied music. I decided to work on a sailing tunes playlist, focusing on music with some type of nautical/sailing theme. Here's what I have so far: Wooden Ships - CSNY Southern Cross - CSN Boat Drinks, Fins, Margaritaville, Cheeseburger in Paradise - Jimmy Buffett If I had a Boat - Lyle Lovett Downeaster Alexa - Billy Joel It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere - Alan Jackson/Jimmy Buffett Message in a Bottle - Police Come Sail Away - Styx Sailing - Christopher Cross This playlist definitely needs some help so I'm looking for advice. What would be on your list that I'm missing. Thanks, Dave - O'Day 222

Thongs

We have our ipod loaded with a lot of sailing music. Get any of the three volumes of "Thongs in the Key of Life." We found it on Amazon. We also have a lot of Eric Stone. Check on the LAts and Atts website. (seafaring.com)

Dave do you insist on lyrics?

Some of the movie sound tracks are great music for sailing. All of the themes for "Starwars" is a good example.

Here's a couple

Doobie brothers: Black Water Daniel Lanois: Still Water & Fisherman's Daughter (actually Fisherman's daughter may not be so good especially with the line "Gods anger broke through the clouds and he spilt the cargo for all to see" *yks Creedence Clearwater Revival:proud Mary & Green River Fiona Apple: O' Sailor Beach Boys: Sloop John B (probably a lot of others too) Genesis: Ripples Interpol: Take You On A Cruise Love & Rockets: Waiting For The Flood Modest Mouse: Float On Radio Head: Weird Fishes Simon & Garfunkel: Bridge Over Troubled Water (again - maybe not so good) ;) Toots & The Maytals (with Willie Nelson): Still Is Still Moving To Me Weezer: Island In The Sun If your just looking for cool stuff to listen to that has nothing to do with sailing on the alt/rock side the new RadioHead album is excellent. I enjoy listening to that out in the water. If you like classical, Ernesto Lecuona has some great stuff to listen to like Siboney or Andalucia. Manny

How about some real sailing songs... Old Shantie's... I have about 100 of them as MP3's Halyard, Heaving, Anchor, Hauling, Capstain.... The list goes on... No time to post names, artists and titles right now... Some clean, most baudy. Cape Cod cat's ain't got no tails.... They got blown away in the North East gales.... Blessings to the Shantie men.
