Just got the boat. I'm not sure its the original sounder. It looks that way. Anyway I disconnected it and when I turned it back on it flashes 0.0 Like a VCR when it loses power. Must I be moving or something. Im in a slip with 4' of water. Its a Uniden 206 I think and digital. TIA Jim

suggestion

Is the transcuder a thrull hull? You may want to check to see if it is clear of marine growth, barnacles, etc.. Are you getting power to the unit on a regular basis? If it is original with the boat, suggest you get another new unit. Crazy Dave Condon

Does it function in deep water?

My Huminbird depth sounder works great in deep water, but looses it in shallow water, around 18 feet -- just when I need it most! It will show 0 or 0.2 feet. I contacted Huminbird and they sent me a new transducer to install for shallow water use. I haven't installed it yet to try it out. Fair winds, Tom

check your battery

I had an older battery in my H22 and had the same symptom. Evidently the battery was not getting a full charge even when the charger said it was. I bought a new battery and have not had the problem since.

getting new battery

Thanks everyone. The battery will not hold a charge very well, so will get a new one. BTW, it did not work in deep water either. Jim

Sometimes I'm kinda stupid

Just discovered the sensitivity screw. That fixed it. Thanks for the responses.
