Newbie. Hunter 27. Faucet water pump was working fine, now not.

The pump is running, water is getting to the pump.

Is there some "priming" process I need to do ? There's an accumulator of sorts in line, like pic below - something I should do with it ?

Forgot to get actual pics. Thanks for any help !!!

All of these are somewhat different. On mine the connectors are threaded on. If that is true you can do what I do when the pump has been run dry. On the side leading to the lines loosen the connection. Do not remove it completely as otherwise you will be sending water everywhere. Once the sound of air coming out is replaced by a few drips it will pump fine then tighten the fitting. You will need to experiment how many turns of the fitti g allows the air to bleed out with it still holding the line on. Technically some these pumps are self priming but a lot depends on exactly it sits.

Good luck and I lok forward to seeing others ideas if there are any.

Probably some grit in the pump valves.. I agree.. loosen the fitting on the pump discharge, open the faucets, then run it until you start getting pressure.. It should cause the faucets to spit a lot.. when the spitting stops, close them all..the pump will continue to run a little, maybe a minute, to pressurize the accumulator, then it should shut off.. The water should clear the check valves in the pump, once it starts pumping a little.
Open hot water faucets too, and make sure that the water heater switch is off so the element doesn't fry itself. if that purge doesn't work, then it may be time to remove the pump and clean out the valves.. good luck!

There may also be an accumulation of stuff in the faucet screen. Be sure to remove any attachments to the faucets and open them all. If there is a hot water tank, remember that will fill before water starts to show at the faucets. Don't ask how I found about all this.

Check to see if you have a screen/filter on your pump. If you hear the pump running it is either a blockage, air in the line (pump will no pump air) or a diaphragm in the pump.

If you don't have a screen/filter before the pump you should.
