Faucet pump modification for "New Design" Catalina 22 ?

Has anyone found a modifcation of the manual pump faucet for the sink in a new design c22 ?

The sink is too shallow for many things and since the sink "just" fits the space, the alternative is to have a swan necked spout instead of the straight one it came with.

A quick search last year for replacement aluminum tubing, to make a new spout was unsuccessful. Diameter was the issue.

Any ideas for mods or sources for thin wall tubing ?

It appears the original pump may be an older version of the Whale "V", based on photos of their current vertical self priming hand pump.

There are nice replacement pumps out there with curved spouts but putting a $200 stainless faucet in the boat, to pump water from a hidden plastic jug/tank into a $5 kettle seems goofy.

Make your own spout out of cheap piece of copper tubing.

That was what I originally did. Both conventional copper tubing and metal brake line tubing were the wrong diameter and leaked badly at the pump. I tried a larger o-ring but the tubing is still loose in the pump so it still leaked. I could simply sealant the tubing in place, but then it would never be removable.

I wish I had the boat here so I could measure it's O.D. again. At the time, all local companies I contacted had nothing with the correct O.D.

hmm... The photos and install info of the current Whale V have me wondering if the original pump also has a long shank on it and is adjustable height. I have always assumed it was simply designed to be flush with the countertop.
Worst case I may end up buying a newer Whale V model.

I don't know it this helps or not, but ...

We replaced the original faucet with a newer Whale model, I think the one sold by CD. It's not a swan neck, but you can raise and lower it significantly, which kind of accomplishes the same thing:

Okay I just dug our old faucet out of the junk bin. (It still works, but Carlotta said it looked "old and ugly" ;)). Yes, it can be raised and lowered just like the new one. And the OD of the spout is 0.444".

@Gene Neill That helps a lot actually. I just edited my previous post after reading the install manual for the newer Whale V. Under $100 and adjustable. My time saving is worth that. Has me wondering if the old version does that.

I have an '86 model and I second Gene on the original pump's ability to be pulled up and lowered for use.

Makes sense. I always assumed it was fixed position. From the photos of the current pump/faucet, it looks likr you loosen one screw on the baseplate to move it up or down.

Do you know if the new pump fits the older sliding galley model? I am also having trouble finding a tank neck and cap.. Ugh.

CD notes on their site, that the height between the sliding galley and underside of the deck varies on the original design boats. They recommend measuring the actual space on your boat and comparing it to the faucets.

If it doesn't, the whale flipper pump looks to have a similar footprint to the original c22's pump.
