I just purchased the Gulfcoast 29 and the first thing I am looking at is the Farymann A30 Diesel. The previous owner had the engine rebuilt about a year ago and recently added a new Jabsco water pump. The problem is no matter what the temperature when you first start the engine the only way is to open the engine hatch and spray starter fluid direct to get the engine to start, after the initial start you can crank again. I know nothing about diesels but don't want to keep going through this process, are their any suggestions on what may be causing this problem. ( this model does not use glow plugs)
