Well, today a fellow came and bought my 2004 H216, so I am temporarily either "boatless, or "boat-free", depending on your attitude! :) So, after a brief pause to reflect on just what I want in the next boat, it's back to shopping! Best wishes to you all. Many thanks for all the advice and suggestions over the brief period of my Hunter ownership. Bob Cowgill

We"ll miss you!

Hi Bob: Thanks to you as well for the discussions and good advice on the H216. I'll miss you but wish you well in your search for a new boat. It would be interesting to me to know what your new boat selection will be. If you get the time, drop us a line to tell us where you ended up. Lamar Sumerlin

Been great to have you here, Bob

Hopefully, your next boat will be one of the brands we have a site for. :)

The next boat???

Lamar, and others, Thanks for the kind words! My experience with the H216 is typical of me. I am an absolutely INCURABLE "tinkerer". It wouldn't matter to me if Herschoff (sp?) himself were standing right beside me...I'd STILL tear right into his latest creation to see if I could make it do SOMETHING better! I had simply done all of the "tweaking" on the H216 I could do without doing something that might devalue it in the eyes of a prospective purchaser. "Hobienot" now lives in Punta Gorda, where she will be teaching newbies how to sail! Not a bad sort of "retirement", eh? :) Also, the bone spurs I have between C5 and C6 in my neck make it quite uncomfortable to sit looking sideways at the world for extended periods. So, the next boat will have (or soon receive!) either a wheel, or at least an auto-tiller. More news as things develop! If someone knows of a particularly good deal in a shoal keeled 18-23 footer, shoot me an E-mail tonight. Tomorrow, the "Admiral" and I will be going to check out a Wellcraft 22 foot Starwinds boat. Thanks, and all God's best to you all! Bob Cowgill

:( Bob, ditto on what our fellow sailors say. We appreciated your comraderie and insights on my favorite Hunter model. While I will enjoy my 2nd season more than my first on Valkyrie ('04 216), I will think of you and the admiral
