Well shipmates, it has been a fun 2 weeks. I'm now sailing over the horizon. I hope most of you got something out of the discussions. The questions were great and I hope my answers helped a bit. A special thanks to all of the regular Forum members who greatly added to the discussions. I'll catch you sailor later when my forum times comes up again. One last note to beginners, don't let all those sail trim controls intimadate you. Spend some time pushing and pulling on them and watch what happens to the shape of your main and jib. Sail trim is not nuclear research. Just remember, there are only 4 things you are adjusting and they are draft depth, draft position, twist and angle of attack - that's it. Once you understand those 4 items, sail trim becomes a snap. Additionally, if I fed a monkey enough bananas I could tell him WHAT controls to adjust. The most important thing to know is WHY you are making a particular sail trim adjustment. If a common seaman like me can figure it out by himself and understand it, any one can.
