Just want to share my horrible experience with this company. Our new boat is out of the water with fresh bottom paint and awaiting new Hunter logos and the name. We all decided it would be easier to letter the boat in dry dock than in the water. The usual business my boat yard uses was tied up with a big job, so my wife and I went to LetteringOnTheCheap.com and ordered exactly what we needed, even matching the "306" to the Hunter logo font. We ordered Tuesday morning and paid for Next Day 10:30 AM delivery. We originally expected it on Wednesday, but they needed a full day for production, so it was to ship out Wednesday evening for delivery Thursday. But when I went to track shipping, there was a message from UPS that said "Payment received" then 'payment Voided", so I called the lettering company and they explained that even though it was in an Air envelope, someone in their shipping department had put it in with the Ground shipments, so UPS returned it. They assured me it would arrive by 10:30 today, and they said they would credit me the shipping. So we delayed putting the boat back into the water until Friday afternoon so we could get the logo and name applied in dry dock. This morning, I called and the letters still hadn't been delivered. So I called LetteringOnTheCheap, and was told that this time they not only packaged it as UPS Ground, but shipped it that way as well. I demanded to speak to a manager and had to wait for her to call me back. After calling AMEX and reversing the charges, the manager called and I explained that I was outraged that they could be so totally incompetent twice, especially after promising me the lettering by 10:30 today. Told them to refund the entire order, which they did, and that I would be telling my sailing buddies NOT to use their company.

We're now trying to get another local guy to duplicate what we ordered, but the boat is probably going back in the water without the lettering and it will have to be done at the dock at more cost to us.

So there you have it. Buyer beware. I hate lousy customer service!

To summarize: The probability of error increases as the time frame decreases. This is a universal law that should always be considered when you're having things made and shipped overnight.

We had a similar nightmare getting our boat name decals made/created! We ended up firing the guy AND paying him $100!!

Ours was done in the water and cost too much but I could not wait to move on to a less frustrating item on our to do list! Good luck to you !

The first thing I did was when I got my new 356 was get rid of those big ugly H356 stickers off the side of my new boat. Did it before the sun had a chance to ghost it into the new gelcoat!! Told the dealer and factory not to put them on but they did it anyway. Should have sent them a bill for the removal.

Just a plug for your local sign maker. Even small towns have one or two. I've always used one for lettering and never been surprised. I can see exactly what I'm getting on the makers screen before it's made and the price is always reasonable. I think I paid $20 for my boats name and home port.

ours were local sign makers (both of them) and they were neither easy nor reasonable...... but at least one got the job done!
