extra halyard on our 33.5

Hello forum viewers!
Our 1989 33.5 has an 'extra' (meaning we don't know what it is for) halyard. We don't think it is for the gennaker because it comes from the aft side of the mast rather than the forward side. Any ideas?

It's for a Spinniker.

Clearly not a spinniker if it comes from the aft side of the mast
Do you have two tracks for your mainsail(s)?
can also us it for going aloft with the mainsail up while at sea to make repairs

Topping lift for one and main halyard for the other?

Coming off the masthead facing aft is the main halyard and the topping lift. The 33.5 is a fractional rig and its spinnaker halyard exits the front of the mast just above the hounds.
