Extra H-26 Dock Line Cleats

I NEVER have enough cleats! .... also my existing cleats are never large enough for the amount and size of dock lines I want to use. Is this "cleat envy"? I especially would like a cleat mid-ship, about where the shroud chain plates are located. Where have other H26 and related family of boats added cleats and how did you back the extras? Does anyone tie onto their winches? Thanks, BrianW

The mooring cleats on the H260 are a good size and well placed but I found I didn't have enough cleats for the running rigging.

I added two next to the port jib sheet cleat. There was enough room on the backing pad. I use those for the jib furling line and the spinnaker tack line.

I also added a 'clamp on' cleat to a starboard life line stanchion for the spinnaker halyard.

I'm with Brian; I could use a clean up by the shroud chain plates for when weather gets severe. Also, IMHO, the mid-ship cleat (at the front of the cockpit) isn't big enough for me. Has anyone mounted a larger one there? Does anyone have a picture of what the support is under the deck by the shroud plates?

Mike, it's hard to see while you're in the water, but I think the shroud chain plate backing is visible on the underside of the hull joint. If memory serves me right, its a piece of stainless flat stock shaped to fit. BrianW
