I have gotten about twenty calls from a guy selling an extended warranty from "First Warranty Group". Does anyone have experience with this? The "warranty" issues I have had thus far have required me to do all the legwork with the individual vendors as opposed to the dealer taking responsibility. First warranty is the extended warranty insurance group that Hunter contracted with to provide the extended warranty on all systems they are now offering. Hunter also arranged for them to offer the same deal to recent buyers. It's similar to the extended aftermarket warranties you can get on cars-after reading their terms and looking at the systems covered on my boat, I thought it was a really good deal-and you can have repairs done anywhere, not just at a hunter dealer.

"extended warrenty" ?

I have not heard of a extended warrenty on boats but just out of interest what are they charging and what are they covering?

Pete, the policy covers essentially all systems that were original, dealer installed, or installed after delivery by a professional. this includes all electronics, plumbing systems, winches, windlass, fuel systems, starter (but not the engine block),head, stoves, etc. the warranty extends to 5 years to match the hull warranty. For our 356 the Hunter deal was $975, vs around $2700 for the standard price
