extended O'Day 32'

1976 O'DAY, 36ft aft cabin, center cockpit.This boat was a 32' extended to 36'. I never heard of this before. Any info on extended boats would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Centre Cockpit Models

There were 2, made by O'Day. The 32 and the 37, not the 36. There was no 36' model. They were almost identical to each other, except for the size and the sailplan. The 37 had either the ketch or the sloop rig. The 32 came in only the sloop rig. If you saw an ad that said the 37 is the stretched version of the 32 I guess it would be somewhat true.Don

I have seen at least two 32ft center cockpit O'Days for sale that were ketches!

That's Very Likely True

I tried to get confirmation of this sail plan on the 32 sometime ago and have kept my eyes open for one, but never did find one. Probably not a very popular sailplan as the aft mast would be intrusive on the smaller model. I have also talked to some 32 owners who were never able to confirm wether this sailplan was available. I stand corrected. Thanks John.Don
