Exhaust stains

Is it just me or does the Hunter 320 stain badly from exhaust because of the water washback? There's no visible smoke, it's just the residue water lapping back up the platform while underway. Should I quit using Cetane?Should I try to put a heavy hose extender up the pipe? Or just quit looking at it...

Consider backing off the throttle

We had the same problem with our 456 at our old marina where we had to motor significant distance to get out to open water. Our dealer warned us that if we had the throttle too high, the boat would not go any faster, but the stern would sit down in the water more and increase the amount of water splashing back. We back off a bit and it largely solved the problem. Formula 409 got off the rest.Harry
