think i might have deleted the earlier post....anyway here we go again...have a 36 foot 1987 catalina....she starts fine when i go to start her prior to leaving for a day of sailing....once the sails are raised the engine turns off until we are coming back to alameda...the last several times when i start the engine water will not mix through the exhaust....i then turn the engine on/off for several minutes and then the water / exhaust works fine. Yet everytime i leave her at the berth when i go to start up everything works fine....its only when i go and come back does the water to cool the engine not immediately work....I have replaced the water strainer and have checked the impeller out...the water pump had some calcification but we cleaned it and the impellor looked fine....any ideas here????
