Exhaust bladder

Any idea where I can get a replacement 6 1/4" ID X 12" rubber hose? See attached photo. One end got a bit to hot and melted a bit. I could shorten the hose to about 10-11". Any mechanical reason to not just go with a shorter hose/

Exhaust bladder? My ignorance but would be interested to know what this is..... is it like a water lock muffler?

Your description is more accurate than mine. It's the bladder on the engine water discharge line.
