Escape NYS!

Hi all:
The admiral and I are beginning our research to get out of New York State. We sail on the beautiful Finger Lakes in a H30t.

My question is this - do any of you have specific advice or information about BVI's, USVI's, Bahamas as places to settle and cruise.

Obviously a giant question but I have to start somewhere in addition to Google! thanks!

NYC

Please do not head west young man, PNW that is. It always rains here, no place to sail, never any favorable winds and the currents seem to run in the wrong direction wherever your destination. Besides I think everyone here is a loon. Otherwise; I fully appreciate your desire to leave NYC.

I was in Seattle during the heat wave and got to helm a 70' racer in mild breezes. I kinda liked it out there! We're 300 miles from NYCity in beautiful upstate NY but the taxes and imbecilic government are killing us!

Amazing how NYS is thought of as NYC!!!
We have an absolutely gorgeous area here in Central New York (NOT Central Park, NYC!!!) with year-round outdoor resources in abundance.
But, it comes with a very steep price.
Wherever you go, BEST OF LUCK!!!
