Lost my boat in a storm up in ct. last spring and am in the market for a new boat. While I was chartering in the chesepeake last week saw a boat for sale tha I really liked.A 1994 ericson 34'. With a little research seems they stopped production in 1988 so I'm confused. The broker said something about someone aquired the molds and started up making boats under the ericson name. Anybody got any info on new company and where they can be contacted?

I have a 1989, Hull #274 apparently made by Pacific Seacraft shortly after they acquired Ericson. It has an EYC hull number but the manual is in a Pacific Seacraft binder. I understand that PSY continued mnufacturing Ericsons under The EYC name for a couple of years. So it is entirely possible that you are looking at a boat made by PSC.

Ericson 34 confusion continues

We have a 1989 Ericson 34 on the Chesapeake. She's a blast & fast! Pacifc Seacraft actually took over production of the Ericsons in 1990. They stuck with the Bruce King design for awhile, but they are now out of production. I just came across a 1997 for sale in the UK that I think is the Bruce King design as opposed to the Crealock so I don't know for sure when they went out of production. PSC could give you that information. PacificSeacraft.com That's a real bummer about losing your boat in a storm last Spring! Heart-breaking...

Ericson 34

We have a 1992 Ericson 34, also built by Pacific Seacraft. In 1993, they renamed it a "350", which is probably more acurate since it is 34'10" in length. Pacific Seacraft upgraded many compnents from the Ericson built boats, and still offers some product and information support. When we needed to replace the boom, one call got us all the information we needed.

We have BLUE CHIP...sail #913 bought at the boat show in Alameda/Oakland in the spring of 1990. This was just before they went out of business. Pacific Seacraft was not involved with this 32-200

Brochure

You can get the Pacific Seacraft brochure for the E-34 at ericsonyachts.com. I suspect by 1994 there were even more changes than the brochure shows. If you are still on the beach, you can sail with us next year. We are not very far from you. Our E-34 is an 87. We are hauling out this week. By next spring we will have newglass2 finish on the deck and topsides, new barrier coat, new bottom paint, revarnished teak in the cabin and new cushions. We have a new Raytheon C120 monitor and GPS and Raytheon radar that reads on the monitor as an overlay or side by side or exclusively. We have 3 water tanks, and refrigeration which helps in cruising. Good luck.
