I've got a 1976 Ericson 27; one side of the cabin ceiling shell has separated from the outer fiberglass. Any thoughts on how to repair?

Not sure about the nature of your problem. Perhaps a couple of pictures would help to identify the scope of the issue. the Forum is easy to load and show pictures of the challenge you are facing.

I think you are talking about the liner which is not a structural part of the boat. It's not deck, it's not hull. It's basically decorative. On my Hunter is was molded plastic held in place by some flimsy hardware. On my Ranger it was just some padded fabric adhered to the underside of the deck. The deck hardware penetrated it. On many boats it's a carpet like material. Of course a picture would be useful for obtaining suggestions for repair.
