As I'm 66 years and a past 23ft. owner, I can offer a small amount of help. My wife and I stepped the mast many times in our five year ownership, and as I remember we would slide the mast forward on the bow crutch and pin the mast base so that it could be raised aft. The fore stay and two lower shrouds were attached and loose adjusted. The boom was attached, and, as I remember the aft stay was attached with the topping lift and a bridle was attached port and stbd. to the boom for stability. This is were my wife and I can't remember where the cable is attached to the port winch with a line. When this is finished, it's an easy task to crank up the mast with some support on the mast from a second helper.
