I used industrial (Oil Rig) type epoxy paint on the interior of my Shark 24, 20+ yrs ago. Still looks like new. Haven't tried on deck but w/good prep I would expect good results.

Interesting idea. I wonder if you could get a nice gelcoat-like finish? I did my garage floor with an epoxy paint by Rustoleum. It is absolutely impervious to anything. The heavy van, turning big tires on salt from winter roads, not a mark. Nothing stains it. Just wondering.

Epoxy isn't very UV tolerant. If you don't choose your paint wisely, you may be stuck with a chalky finish in a very short time.

Snotter is right. Epoxy is very waterproof and looks nice when you first apply it, but it will not hold up to UV degradation and will oxidize and become chalky and dull much sooner than a polyurethane paint (which is not as waterproof and should never be used under the water line when immersion is a long duration or it will blister. It is ok if above the water line and gets wet. Since it is not submerged, it will not be adversely affected.
