Can you be more specific about the product you're using and where you'll be applying. Bottom paint, topside etc. Sounds like your might be using Interlux Brightside since you said "hull"
Also you said: " In gearing up ive read that you dont to wait 30 minutes before you apply it....BUT the instructions call for a 30 minute wait time before applying." …… uh.... wait for what? I'm not understanding the question.
However..... I can tell you that if you're going to use a one part epoxy like Brightside... there are a number of YouTube vids that will take you from A to Z. My experience is positive.. but you must pay attention to the instructions on the can, you must pay attention to the air temperature... and thin your paint accordingly. You should use the specified Interlux thinner and brushing liquid. You should wait the minimum time between coats.... (maybe that's what you're asking... always refer to the manufacturer instructions on the can) and lightly scuff with 400 grit or more. Rolling and Tipping is the most popular application method... again, youtube's a big help, but you will find your own preference. My method... because I did it alone... was to roll two foot sections vertically(works better because of the hull's curvature).. then tip horizontally back toward the wet edge of the previous section... you must move quickly to keep the wet edge. The final coat you do not sand... the paint will lay out nicely and show a beautiful gloss. I've used a 4 or 6 inch closed foam rollers and tipped with 3-4 inch foam brush. Use a new roller and brush for each coat.
Regarding time between coats.... my last project was during some pretty hot weather.. so I put down a coat in the morning... took about an hour.. then come back when it started cooling off to prep and paint the next coat. Very important to prep properly... read the instr on can.. Did I say that already? Finally... you might benefit from a couple coats of Interlux epoxy primer...
