Mr Torresen I recently went to your web site and noticed that there is an engine zinc for the YSE12 Yanmar. I was unaware of this and probably should replace it. Where is it located? The engine is in a 1975 H30. thank you Barry

Zinc

The engine zinc is located behind a plate about three inches above the injecter. It should be replaced once a year. Sean s/v Carnaby Street

YSE zinc

The sacrificial zinc for the YSE is located in the upper cover assembly. It is right along side the thermostat housing. The mounting plate is contained by two bolts and the zinc is held to this plate with a nut. What you are looking for is a relatively small, diamond shaped plate with two bolts and a nut between them. The zinc should be inspected annually and changed when it is about half the size of a new one. Inspecting or changing the zinc could require a new gasket as well.
