a rubber diaphram similar to an old mechanical fuel pump. Usually on the line where it connects to engine. These pumps are real low volume Bob, I bet it takes 30 pumps or more just to do the filter and 4 feet or so of line.Looking at a photo of what I believe to be your engine, lift pump is right above dipstick, look around it for a lever. It may have an electric prime but I bet there's a lever on that pump somewhere.
