Just bought a 1988 catalina 30 TRBS and was wondering if other owners with the universal 25 / twin blade experience vibration when under power. I had the boat hauled out and bottom repainted and as far as I could tell the prop and shaft looked good, the engine also seems secure on its motor mounts. Any feedback would be welcome. George

prop shaft alignment
check the cutlass bearing first - assuming you have done that and found ok when hauled out, you may have to re-align the prop shaft. Not a big deal, just a bit fiddly. The manual (if you have one) explains in good detail how to do it. Otherwise check the archives - there has been some discussion on this in the past.

Edward, thanks for the reply, the cutlass bearing checked out ok...there was no play or looseness of the shaft. I'll look up the alignment process. Is this something i can do without having to haul out?
