I have a Hunter 19 with a 1995 8 hp honda
this weekend it seemed like the prop was slipping at times and delivering no or little thrust then went back to normal
Any one else have this happen
I am concerned about using it but since it is the end of the season what should i do

Could be cavitation or possibly your prop hub/shear pin. Fixing the first is easy and cheap and the second one shouldn't be very expensive.

To expand slightly on Clark's reply:
If you don't have thru hub exhaust then you should have a shear pin. ...... simply replace it.
If it happens to be a thru prop/hub exhaust then you will have to take the prop to the shop for a new rubber insert w/ spline. It takes a machine to squeeze the new rubber into the hole. about $60.00 should do it.
