Does any one know a good source of parts for the Universal M25? Also Does anyone know what year the M25 was upgraded to the m25XP? Was there a major difference in parts?

I've noticed that the nut on the crank shaft that hold the pulley in place has loosened up. I think what has happened is that the key holding the pulley in place has broken off. The washer behind the nut is mangled and the motor runs rough at low rpms. Probably because the pulley is slipping. Also noticing small oil leak where shaft enters the block. I want to replace the seal there.

get the seal out and go to napa auto parts store and have them match it up there is a part number on the seal usually on the rubber part or you can get a kubota parts manual i have seen them mentioned on this site and it has been said that the parts from kubota are cheaper in price as opposed to universal prices

Come back with more specific questions, we're here to help.

The ONLY differences between the M25 and the M25XP is the XP has 2 more hp and a bigger 3 inch HX with the alternator bracket upgrade already installed. Many of us with M25s have upsized the HX and replaced (mnandatory!!!) the bracket.

XPs started about 1987-88 in all Catalinas (30, 34, 36).
