Engine overheating solved

Traced lack of raw water flow back to the seacock. This is what I found.

Sort of obviates the need to carry fishing tackle.

well then it seems to me the strainer would now be called a fishbowl with that fish swimming around in there

I have a slotted strainer covering my raw water engine thru hull. Nonetheless, TWICE over the past few years I have found a small fish alive and swimming inside of the engine strainer inside the boat.

A few years ago, a friend's raw water cooled engine started overheating. We did our due diligence and found the thermostat was plugged with fish parts that had made it through the raw water pump.. He had no raw water strainer!..
