Our bilge failed to work and the floors below deck filled with engine oil soaked rain water. We drains the water but the teak floors and now soaked in engine oil. Any recommendation to clean and restore them and how best to remove mold/mildew from walls/cloth etc. would be greatly appreciated (what a mess)

What year is your H36? Most newer automatic bilge pump switches will not pump oil.

Reason for the year question is that all newer boats I know have a pan under engine to catch any oil spills . Check with walmart I found some degreaser stuff called deep purple or something like that in the auto.. r/v section. It works great! Awsome orange from the dollar store works to. I try and keep a emergency supply onboard. Try and keep that area under the engine always clean and dry. I keep a layer of white paper towels under my engine and inspect often. While out sailing and when using engine I will check it maybe every 30 minutes. Caught a raw water leak one time after pump seals failed. Pan was half full of water with just little oil. And on another ocasion oil from a failed yanmar defective gasket engine design issuie. Just remember it only takes one cigarette in a large restaurant to ruin a fine meal!
Okay. On the newer hunters the teak and holly floor is easily removed for cleaning etc. As far as removing the stained or mold from the teak and holly floor panels. Forget it... I have never had any success in my nearly forty years of sailing in removing any mold from those holly strips. You just have to learn too live with it or install a new teak and holly sole. $$$$$
