where is the thru hull for sea water engine exhaust; is it on the bottom or side of the hull. when my engtine runs I see no water discharge.
the water should be coming out the exhaust port if you have a water lift muffler witch i am almost sure you dowhere is the thru hull for sea water engine exhaust; is it on the bottom or side of the hull. when my engtine runs I see no water discharge.
TDudley: thank you and will look in that area.On my 81 27H the exhaust exit is on the starboard side close the centerline of the boat right at the waterline. I have found that if you are sitting still it is hard to see. You should see some disturbance in the water in that area.
woodster: It is a Yanmar 1gm; and yes I hear the exhaust muffler that is in the stern area but can't see any dischargeed water. will check other items.the water should be coming out the exhaust port if you have a water lift muffler witch i am almost sure you do
what kind if engine do you have
if you have no water you need to find out why
start with the raw water impeller but first make sure you have the seacock open so you can get water
David: Thank you for the note; I think you are right as I can easily hear the exhaust. Our exhaust is out the stern, starboard side. The cooling water comes out the exhaust. We upgraded to a 1GM10 around five years ago, but no change to the exhaust/cooling water path.
