Engine coolant and flushing

Hello allI am in the process of changing all the hoses and flushing my coolant on my Yanmar 3HM35F. Currently, it has the green coolant in it. What type (make) and where do I get the orange stuff? Also, prior to the new coolant, should the system be flushed with a radiator flush that I use to use on my car and got from an auto supply place? Thanks allGreg1986 3HM35F

Silicate free orange antifreeze

among them are Havoline Extended Life DEX-Cool 7994. Just make sure you thoroughly flush the entire system since they don't mix well - using clean water to flush will do.

Flush it

I used the Prestone special radiator flush on my Universal 25XP diesel.I set up robust concentration and allowed it to circulate for about an hour.I inserted the T on the Hot water line.Then a good flush with fresh water and fianlly a 50-50 mix of the long life orange antiffreeze. Remember radiator caps loose their function over time and this is a goood time to replace the cap. This method will do nothing for the seawater side of the heat exchanger. That needs to be removed and rodded with a bore brush if it has a scale build up.
