I am planning on replacing my Yanmar control panel and would like to find one of the plastic pieces that recess it into the cockpit wall.

So, my question is what are the recessed mounts called, and where would I find them?

Thanks in advance.

I just replaced mine with a new one from Yanmar. It cost about $34. Except for the ignition switch, I simply removed the old tach, lights, buzzer etc and put it in the new panel. Even my wife noticed it...

What engine was it for? All I've seen, even used ones are several hundred $$ . Mine is a Yanmar 2qm15. I was planning on using a piece of Lexan or a polycarbonate. Right now the panel is mounted flush on the cockpit seat wall. I'd like to recess it to give it a small amount of protection.

I redid mine out of starboard because I wanted to relocate the engine kill cable and add a few things, including a light that comes on whenever the bilge pump comes on and an on/off switch for the NMEA circuit. Was going to recess and angle the panel up a little to make it easier to see but ended up just putting it back straight for now.

I too replaced mine with a new Yanmar panel. I walked into my local Yanmar dealer and he pulled one off the shelf for $26.00. Their are two types of panels an A and a B mine was a B. I also put in a new tach (that was pricey) but he old one had quit working. It was a simple job, it comes with a gasket to seal it. Sadly, however, my wife did not notice!

I did this for mine

I did the same thing for my 79 H33. Used dark smoked polycarbonate, got some digital meters through JC Whitney, and installed the previously missing engine shutoff and decompression cables from Yanmar. One thing I did that many may find questionable, I did not install a buzzer. I find them very annoying, and the way I see it, if you're not keeping an eye on your gauges while motoring, you're asking for trouble anyway.
The digital gauges are great! It's nice to know the exact temperature of the water, the exact oil pressure, and precisely how much fuel you have left.
I would have included a picture, but the boat is in storage on the hard and is a distance away right now.

Can you send me the name & phone of the Yanmar dealer you got the panel from. Also the part number if you have it handy.

Thanks
