I am just finishing installing a beta and bought a nice control panel from
Steve Birch. With the large tach I have, I had to cut the original engine
control open a bit. While everything fits, I find there is little space left
for adequate sealing of the panel from the rain. I had it in once, but it
wasn't sealed enough and there was a slight leak. So now I have the panel
out and have the very large hole covered to keep rain out.Just wondering if
anyone has located the engine control panel elsewhere in the cockpit? There
are many other spaces available and I know it can be done. Just curious what
others have done.
The second thing is the location of the shore power. I am just installing a
fitting for the shore power cable. Just wondering where others have their
fitting installed. Again, there are plenty of locations available, but just
curious what others with the Vega have done.
Last question. What clever ways have folks come-up with to secure the bilge
access panels? On Flyaway they are just sitting there with no fastening -
this can be dangerous. I can see several ways to secure them, but again, why
reinvent a solution if someone already has a cleaver way to secure these.
