Beneteau Oceanis 361 Clipper --
I need to replace the engine (bildge) blower of my Beneteau 361. Currently I have a Plastimo (item ref 16274). Can you tell me what blower you have in your Beneteau 361? I need to know what alternative choices I have (something cheaper probably and less noisy).
Thanks

Go to WM or Defender and take your pick. This is a standard item primarily used for powerboats. I bought mine off the shelf at WM don't remember the brand but it was much quieter then the one originally installed in my 423

Does it matter if the output (remember these things basically extract hot air from the engine room) is more or less than the current blower? The engine area of Beneteau 361 is rather tight so probably extracting more air than the volume coming is not good for the engine.

PS: The engine area of B423 is much bigger and if I remember well the B423 has an "in line" blower inside the engine area.

You want the CFM of the replacement fan to be the same or greater than the original.
A greater CFM only means that more "air changes per minute" occurs, which is a good thing.

The blower is in line (vent hose) but it is located in the stern locker close to the cowl fitting

I put another plastimo in after running a couple of year with no blower. Damn things make too much noise. You have a diesel so the only downside is your boat will smell like hot engine. It isn't like anything is going to blow up, and my engine never ran a lick hotter. Blowers are a quality of life item.
